    Director of Technical Accoutning 

     

    StoneMor Partners is looking for a Director of Technical Accounting to join our corporate Accounting team. This position is located in our Trevose, PA national headquarters.

     

    Reporting directly to the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO), this position will have primary responsibility for managing and overseeing the Company’s Financial Reporting functions, including: oversight of quarterly and annual financial statement filings as well as other SEC filings (quarterly earnings release, various registration statements, etc.).  A significant role in monthly close process and management reporting, including direct oversight of the cash flow statement preparation.

     

    This position will have frequent involvement in technical accounting issues (such as debt refinancing, emerging standards, etc.) and will provide support of various annual accounting and reporting considerations (segment reporting, impairment assessment, etc). Lastly the Director of Technical Accounting will support the CAO in establishing and developing in-house capabilities of addressing complex accounting matters.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist with timely and accurate preparation of financial reports.
    • Preparation of the company’s quarterly (Form 10-q) and annual (Form 10-k) financial statements, including a review of XBRL, and other financial reports, such as quarterly earning releases, registration statements, and more.
    • Responsible for supporting schedules and analysis used in the preparation of the quarterly and annual financial statements, including the company’s cash flow statement.
    • Conduct and oversee disclosure research for new or changing requirements, business transactions, peer company analysis, as well as the application and disclosure of new accounting or SEC standards.  
    • Supporting CAO for various disclosure and audit committee meetings, including preparations for presentations.
    • Manage reporting calendars, which will include cross-functional coordination of key deliverables.
    • Conduct technical accounting research for material or complex transactions and provide technical accounting guidance across all functions ensuring compliance with applicable GAAP.
    • Assess and document the accounting impact and required disclosures for major corporate events or transactions, including contracts, acquisitions, debt and equity offerings.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent experience is required.
    • CPA is required.
    • 10+ years of public accounting experience auditing/preparing financial reporting for publicly –traded company.
    • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting, excellent technical accounting skills is a must.
    • Stonrg interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Excellent written skills with demonstrated expertise in drafting technical accounting memos
